And there it goes!

This entire fan blog was inspired by a life-long love of Michael Jordan and the incredible memorabilia that surrounds his career... but the impetus to do it now was the auction of his jersey from 1997 that Sotheby's was running that concluded yesterday.

Well, ICYMI and per ESPN, that auction has a winner and said winner (unknown at this point) paid... $4.68M for the jersey!

Wow. Congrats to the winner and the seller and thanks all who followed along here.

I may report back when more info trickles out about the jersey or I'm inspired by some other sense of MJ nostalgia but for now... bye. #Mikes97jersey

Annndddd...it's Auction Time!

Savvy readers will remember me mentioning that part of why Michael Jordan and in particular his '96-97 season and in extra particular the jersey he wore for a bunch of games that season is that said jersey is being auctioned off by Sotheby's.

Well, it snuck up on me quick but the auction ends this afternoon! 4:01 pm ET, to be exact.

I'd like to think this entire blog serves as a love letter to MJ and his game and the joy we have in collecting items that celebrate him and his career, but I've admittedly done it mostly in old-school, text form. That's me :).
